Why We Chose Cuenca Ecuador over Every Other Top Expat Destination
We researched a LOT of different expat destinations before we chose Cuenca Ecuador for our exploratory trip back in 2017.
After initially planning a move to Mexico, we changed our minds after relations with the US soured following the 2016 election and drug related crimes in Mexico started to increase. Ecuador seemed like a safer option at the time and it still is, assuming the government and indigenous people come to a resolution over the IMF loan and austerity measures.
Cuenca is an amazing city with a lot to offer both the occasional traveller and the permanent expat. We hope you enjoy our walk through El Centro while we share the reasons why we chose Cuenca Ecuador.
