A Stroll Through Parque Paraíso Cuenca Ecuador

Parque Paraíso Cuenca Ecuador

Parque Paraíso Cuenca Ecuador is one of our favorite parks in Cuenca. We walk Daisy from our house along the Yanuncay river, around the park and back home nearly every week at least once. It’s a long walk and Daisy is getting older so we don’t always take her, but she loves to go there and smell the other dogs.

Parque Paraíso is located at the fork between the Tomebamba and Yanuncay Rivers on the southeast side of central Cuenca. It’s a popular park with locals and gringos alike. It’s common to see outdoor yoga and zumba classes, fútbol games (soccer), frisbie, dogs and children playing, lovers relaxing and people exercising on the circuit machines.

In the center of the park is an island with two bridges connecting it to the mainland. This is where Jessica had Maxi’s birthday party. The water surrounding the island is home to several different species of colorful ducks and other water birds. There are also lots of fruit stands in the park in case you get hungry for a delicious and healthy snack.

Hola todos! Welcome to my author bio page! Let's see. Where to begin... I grew up in the country on a lake outside a small Kansas farm town. As soon as I could, I got the hell outta there! Since then, I've lived and/or worked in Kansas City, Washington D.C., Denver, San Francisco, and Ecuador. I started and sold a dotcom, wrote a book about it, started a YouTube channel, and now I write a lot. Amelia and I have embraced the Unconventional Life and we want to help you do it, too!
