WE WERE TOTALLY UNPREPARED FOR THIS AT LAGUNA CUICOCHA (near Cotacachi Ecuador)

Even though we have two wedding dates, our first NON-date is the most memorable and meaningful because it was so much fun and it was the start of something truly special.

This year, we were in Cotacachi, Ecuador for our anniversary and took the opportunity to film several videos while we were there.

Laguna Cuicocha or Cuicocha Lake is one of Ecuador’s most popular tourist attractions. It’s located a short 20 minute cab ride from the center of Cotacachi and costs $6 or $12 roundtrip.

If you want to hike the entire loop around the volcano crater lake, it’ll take about 5 hours so wear sunscreen, mosquito repellent, comfortable hiking boots, and several layers of clothing. Also take plenty of food and water.

After our hike, we went to Vandanam Indian Restaurant in Cotacachi, which is owned by Francis, our friend and Chinnu’s nephew. If you visit, be sure to tell him you saw this video!

Hola todos! Welcome to my author bio page! Let's see. Where to begin... I grew up in the country on a lake outside a small Kansas farm town. As soon as I could, I got the hell outta there! Since then, I've lived and/or worked in Kansas City, Washington D.C., Denver, San Francisco, and Ecuador. I started and sold a dotcom, wrote a book about it, started a YouTube channel, and now I write a lot. Amelia and I have embraced the Unconventional Life and we want to help you do it, too!
