Manta Ecuador Ironman
Each year, Manta hosts an Ironman 70.3 competition with athletes from around the world who come here to swim in the ocean for 1.2 miles, cycle for 56 miles, and run for 13.1 miles (a half marathon).
This Sunday in Manta, Ecuador would seem normal to most people anywhere in the world. Days like this give you a glimpse into what life is like in other countries and hopefully demonstrate that there are more similarities than differences.
It’s difficult to wrap your head around the physical fitness and stamina required to complete this race. We were really impressed with all the participants, especially those with physical disabilities.
If you’re in Manta or Olón, we highly recommend South Indian Restaurant if you enjoy authentic Indian food. The recipes and flavors are just like what we ate on our visit to Kerala in southern India back in 2019.

Hola todos! Welcome to my author bio page! Let's see. Where to begin... I grew up in the country on a lake outside a small Kansas farm town. As soon as I could, I got the hell outta there! Since then, I've lived and/or worked in Kansas City, Washington D.C., Denver, San Francisco, and Ecuador. I started and sold a dotcom, wrote a book about it, started a YouTube channel, and now I write a lot. Amelia and I have embraced the Unconventional Life and we want to help you do it, too!
