Getting from Cuenca to Salinas Ecuador (by land)

Amelia and JP VLOG 153: We’re visiting Salinas Ecuador for the very first time! After our trip to Quito was cancelled due to the paro (strike), we decided to come to visit Salinas.

While Cuenca is known as the “Athens of Ecuador,” Salinas is known as the “Miami of Ecuador.” Over the next few days, we’ll show you why that is so stay tuned!

Operazuaytur Busetas – the busetas from Cuenca to Guayaquil leave every hour from 3AM to 10PM. We usually make a reservation the day before through their Facebook page for the time we want. The tickets cost $12 and the ride takes about 3 hours.

Luis the Taxi Driver – the owner of the AirBnB we rented lives back in Florida and she has a property manager based in Salinas who arranged a taxi driver to pick us up at the buseta office in Guayaquil.
